Here’s to hoping Spring comes fast
Although this winter has been mild, to say the least, I am always searching for signs of Spring.
Back in November, I was recently gifted with a snowblower from my dear husband. After shoveling snow the last two winters, I just wanted something that would not keep breaking my back. Well, as you all may know, it was finally put into use as we received just a few inches of the white stuff on February 9.
Not having experience in the operations of a snowblower, I was a little intimidated but quicly got the hang of it…after reading the manual from start to finish. I noticed there were as many pages on the service and maintenance of the machine as there were pages on the actual operation.
Start it up!
There is something about having all that power in your hands. It must be similar to the big boys with their big toys. It was actually starting to be fun until I blew the snow back into the place I had just cleared. I made a mental note to switch chute positions on the next pass. Then I started to be less fun as the wet snow started to clog the chute. In the end, I would up with the shovel in my hand anyway, although for a smaller area to clear.
I don’t mind if I never get to use the snowblower again this season but it is nice to know it is there when I do need it.
My sign of Spring in all of this: doing the little amount of maintenance that it will take to store the snowblower before the next snow season comes back around. Make sure you follow your owner’s manual as to any pre-storage instructions that may be needed. Take care of your items; they will last longer.
